Let’s Go Girls: A Guide to the Ultimate Girls’ Day

Maintaining friendships in adulthood isn’t always easy. Everyone has their own path, our careers and families become our main priorities, and life just gets in the way. However, few things are better than planning a day or an evening to spend time with your besties. Everyone needs a girls’ outing every once in awhile—make it count! Follow along for a guide to the ultimate girls’ day to make the best of your time with your friends.

Hit the Beach
Hit the Beach

The beach is one of my favorite places ever, and it’s even better when you have your gals and a cold drink! Spending the day soaking up the sun and catching up on life is the ultimate form of therapy. Even though it might be difficult to carve out an entire day to hit the beach with your friends, it’s well worth the planning and scheduling! If you can’t take the day off, consider making it an evening trip—take dinner or snacks and watch the sunset at the beach together.

Pro Tip

Take beach chairs or a large sheet to sit on in order to make the trip more comfortable.

Visit a Winery

Visit a Winery

If you enjoy trying new wines, visiting a winery is always an enjoyable experience. I absolutely love going to wineries with my friends; it’s relaxing and fun! Not only do you get to try something new, but spending time at the winery also gives you time for meaningful conversations. Additionally, wineries are some of the best photo opportunities for you and your besties!

What to Wear

When it comes to wineries, you’ll want to dress comfortable but cute! Flowy dresses, linen shorts, cotton tops, and sandals are some of the best outfit choices for your wine tasting. Don’t be afraid to dress simply—you can supplement your ensemble with statement jewelry and pretty hairstyles.

Have a Tea Party

Have a Tea Party

Tea parties are so much fun! You might not think of this idea firsthand for your next girls’ day, but you won’t regret planning an afternoon tea with your closest friends. Whether you do this in someone’s yard, at a quiet public garden, or another peaceful location, tea parties are excellent opportunities for you and your friends to be together and get fancy!

All you need is a group of ladies, a table, a tea set, tea, and snacks for the perfect day. When we had our tea party, cake was a big hit—it’s the best treat to wrap up your tea time.

How to Dress

Tea parties should be fancy occasions; therefore, pastel sundresses are the best options when it comes to building your outfit. Polish your look with simple jewelry, platform sandals or chunky heels, and a formal clutch. And don’t forget your wide-brim hat!

Stay in and Craft

Stay in and Craft

Staying in is always a great option for a girls’ day. There’s a good chance y’all have busy lives, and you just want a chance to slow down and catch up with each other. In that case, staying in and crafting is a perfect choice. You can paint, Mod Podge something, do diamond art, make ornaments, and so much more!

Crafting is one of my favorite things to do with my besties: it’s relaxing, gives us time to decompress, and allows us privacy to talk about anything. Your crafts don’t always turn out Pinterest-worthy, but it’s the effort that counts! In reality, you’re there to bond with your pals, relax, eat tasty snacks, and drink wine.

What to Wear

Staying in means pajamas or loungewear are the only acceptable wardrobe options. Get comfortable, rock your bare face, and throw your hair in a messy bun. If your friends judge you for what you’re wearing, get some new friends—you don’t need that kind of negativity in your life.

Planning outings with your friends is SO necessary! Now that you have a guide to the ultimate girls’ day, you can enjoy various activities and adventures with those ladies who are more like sisters than friends. Sometimes your soul sisters are just who you need to pick you up, encourage you, and help put you back together. Hold on tight—don’t let these beauties go.
